Some people prefer to buy ready-to-go products. However, I believe that there are many benefits to making your own. My favorite reason being the amount of money you will save by doing this. Hi Catherine,

I had no idea there were specific cleaning vinegars our there, and Heinz is a well known brand.

It’s great that you listed all the pros and cons making it easier to find the best one.

Hi Patsy!
I am glad that you like how I have presented my review. Just glad that this could be of use to you.
All the best and I hope to hear from you again soon.

My wife has problems with most cleaners because of some health issues she has. She has been using vinegar to clean for years.

Hi Eric, I am sorry to hear that your wife has health issues but am also delighted to hear that she has discovered vinegar as a healthier alternative. Thank you for sharing and all the best.

I always incorrectly assumed that cleaning vinegar was just a marketing ploy to get you to buy the more expensive bottle. I thought there was no difference to regular vinegar. I am so glad I found your article to learn it is a stronger formula. I will have to get some next time I go to the store.

Hi Maryann,
I am glad that my article has helped you to understand the difference between the two.
Happy to have helped you and enjoy the rest of your day.

Heinz has been around for a long time. Even though they are a large food processing corporation, they are old enough that I trust them in regards to purchasing their products and being okay with it. Their cleaning vinegar isn’t considered green and organic, but in a sense it is the most natural way to clean things without chemicals. I am sold on it. Do you know if they sell it in a smaller size?

Hi Sophia, they do sell it singularly and this can be founds here.
However, if you are using it daily, as I do, I think it works out better to pay for the multipack because of shipping.
I hope this helps. All the best.

This is brilliant. I’ve always used vinegar for cleaning and it does a great job. I did not know that Heinz had their own cleaning vinegar as I find them trusted brand.
I dont understand why it would not be certified as a green cleaner. I use to buy multi-purpose cleaners all the time, but wont anymore.
Thank you for yet another great article

Hi Patty. I am really pleased to hear that you are already using vinegar for cleaning because doing this promotes the health of you and your family. I think that using and product that has cleaning properties is going to be in some way detrimental to our environment. However the concern is very low with vinegar compared to other toxic products. I hope this clears it up for you. Please reach out to me if you have any further questions. Have a nice weekend.

I love to clean with vinegar. It works wonders, and I don’t have to use harsh chemicals. I like this giant size cleaning vinegar. This will last me a bit longer. I use it for a variety of cleaning, so you are right that this is a great choice over the regular cleaning products which are not good for the environment.

Hi, I am really pleased that you are already convinced that using vinegar to clean is a much better alternative to other toxic products.
You also save money on postage when buying multipack like this that will last you a long time.
All the best and thank you for stopping by.

Its good to see someone who cares about the environment, one of the women I work with has been looking for alternatives to traditional cleaners and I think this will help out a lot!

Hi Catherine.
Thanks for your post. I’m looking for a vinegar to help clean up the slime that my children play with. It gets on everything and I’ve tried a lot of things to get rid of it and someone suggested vinegar. I didn’t know there were specific cleaning vinegars our there so do you think this one might do what I need it to?
Look forward to hearing from you.
Thanks. Gail

Hi Catherine. That was quite funny. I clicked on the link to get more info and it took me to the Amazon page but there were only baked beans 🙂 ! I’m guessing we don’t have it here in the UK yet. Are you able to cook with this version of vinegar too.

Hi Sue, that is funny. My links are supposed to direct you to an alternative on Amazon UK. Yes, you can cook with this vinegar. As for the cleaning, I certainly wouldn’t recommend cleaning with baked beans! Thank you for letting me know about this, I will get in touch with Amazon.
Thank you for this snippet of humour too. All the best.

Hey Eco-Catherine!

This is just the thing I need in my life right now. I have the weirdest allergies that just seem to keep getting more sensitive.

Lately I’ve become deathly allergic to the bleach cleaner my family uses to clean the toilet. I really hate having allergies because just because no one sees it they think I’m just overreacting.

Anyways, do you have a good cleaning recipe to use for toilets and more messier household stuff like cleaning up raw meats, etc.? I want to try it!

Definitely bookmarking and sharing your page,

I am delighted to hear that you have found this post useful. I have allergies to an cleaning with natural sources has helped me out a lot.
For cleaning up counter tops with raw meats, I would recommend making an all-purpose spray:
Into a glass spray bottle add 1/4 cup of cleaning vinegar, 1 1/2 cups of distilled water and 25 drops of pure lemon essential oil.
Be sure to add a little (2%) of hydrogen peroxide if cleaning raw meat as this is a natural alternative to bleach. I wouldn’t use the hydrogen peroxide unless you have germs that need killing.
For cleaning toilets, i like to make toile bombs. Into a bowl mix baking soda, vinegar (very small amount) and pure lemon essential oil. Mix them in a bowl until you have a paste. Then transfer into ice cube trays. When you need to clean your toilet, just drop one in the bowl, leave to sit foe 15 mins and clean as normal.
Hope this helps.
